Momoya, since its founding in 1920 has under its principles of high quality and advertising, embraced bringing to the dining table deliciousness and enjoyment as its philosophy.

Ever since, we have been discerning in our choice of ingredients and have striven to make good quality products using an efficient manufacturing method. As an example of this, most zha cai (Pickled Sichuan vegetable) distributed in the market are only salted, however Momoya’s flavored ‘Zasai’(Zha Cai) is wind dried outdoors and then let to lactic acid ferment and following which is stuffed into an earthen vessel with spices and left to further ferment and age for about a year. Also,‘Gohan desu yo!’, Momoya’s laver boiled in soy sauce, has a factory near to the main source of the laver in Mie Prefecture dedicated to removing any foreign objects such as from shellfish etc from this primary ingredient of laver. In order to provide reassuring and safe products to the consumer, the use of manual labour and time is not spared and is combined with the latest technology and machinery.

Whatever the era, we aim to be closer to the needs of the dining tables of our customers and provide invaluable household products that ‘can’t be done without’. We also do not make products that can be easily manufactured. With these in mind, the trust that Momoya has earned from its customers over very many years forms the basis of continuing to make good quality products that will not disappoint expectations.
